The basics

What is fins?

fins is an iOS app that generates photorealistic AI portraits of you. You upload a photo of your face plus a photo of any scene you'd like to be in, and fins produces four images of you in that exact pose, outfit, and setting.

What kinds of photos work best?

For your face: a clear, well-lit photo where your face is unobstructed (no sunglasses, hats, or hair covering your face). Selfies and portraits both work — fins crops to your face automatically before generating.

For the scene photo: any image you'd want to recreate. A friend's vacation post, an editorial photo, a magazine spread. The clearer the pose, outfit, and lighting in the source photo, the better the result.

How long does each generation take?

About 30–60 seconds. fins runs four versions in parallel so you can pick the one you like best.

Credits & billing

How do credits work?

Each generation produces four photo variants and costs 220 credits. You get 200 free credits when you sign up — enough to try the app — and you can buy more anytime through the in-app store.

What do credit packs cost?

Starter ($9.99) gives you 1,900 credits, Pro ($29.99) gives 7,400, Studio ($49.99) gives 12,500, and Power User ($149.99) gives 48,000. Larger packs cost less per generation.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for credit purchases are handled through Apple's standard App Store refund process. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days of purchase. We don't have the ability to issue refunds outside of Apple's system.

What if a generation fails?

If something goes wrong on our end, the credits are automatically refunded to your account — you only pay for generations that successfully complete.

Privacy & data

What happens to the photos I upload?

Your face and scene photos are sent to our servers, processed by AI providers (Anthropic and Wavespeed), and then deleted within seconds of the generation completing. We do not keep your uploads.

What about the generated images?

The four photos fins creates are saved to your in-app library so you can view, share, and download them. You can delete any image from the library at any time.

Are my photos used to train AI models?

No. Our AI providers (Anthropic and Wavespeed) are contractually prohibited from using your inputs to train their models. Your photos are processed only to generate your output and are not retained for training.

Who else can see my photos?

No one. fins isn't a social app — there's no public feed, no other-user discovery, no profile sharing. Your library is visible only on your device.

Account & support

How do I delete my account?

Email support@tryfins.com from the address tied to your Apple ID. We'll delete your account and all associated images within 30 days.

How do I contact support?

Open Settings in the app and tap "support" — that opens an in-app form. You can also email us directly at support@tryfins.com.

Why does fins need my email?

So we can reply to support requests. Apple's "Hide My Email" option works fine — Apple will forward replies to your real inbox.

Output quality

Why does my output look slightly different than the scene photo?

fins describes the scene photo to a generation model in text, then renders a new image with your face. Some details (exact background objects, specific clothing patterns, very specific poses) won't transfer 1:1 — what does transfer is the overall composition, lighting, pose, and styling.

Will the photos look like AI?

Outputs are designed to look like real phone photos — soft lighting, natural skin tones, no glossy editorial finish, no AI-rendered text or logos. Most outputs are indistinguishable from a phone snapshot at thumbnail size.

Can I use fins for content creation or commercial work?

Yes. You retain ownership of the images you generate. See our terms of service for the full license details.

Still stuck?
